Lead the champion. Command the legion.
Start with the tutorial or a local bot match. Learn what your selection controls, set an army order and decide where your next gold makes the difference.
Start with a tutorial or local bot match.
Download the Windows installer, install Ellaris Launcher and start it to download the game. Pick one of the eight champions and try selection, movement and abilities before playing online.
Selection decides your next command.

Choose your army path.
Militia recruit before research. At your stronghold choose Heavy, Ranged, Magic or Light, upgrade production through tier V and research attack or defence. Your champion choice is independent of the army. You can switch paths for gold; the new path restarts at tier I, and existing troops stay.
That gold can also buy items at a shop. Strengthen the champion winning a local fight or the legion influencing the whole battlefield.
Set a standing order, then intervene.
Your army begins on Defend. Opening the gates does not automatically order a push. Choose Automatic Engage toward an enemy team at the stronghold or set an army order with T. Manual selection and commands let you reposition a group when the fight demands it.
Champion escort keeps the legion near your hero. Watch the minimap: another team can threaten home while you fight on a different front.
Keep your strongholds standing.
A match ends when only one team has surviving strongholds. There is no fixed match timer deciding victory. Protect home, choose a useful push and coordinate with your teammates.
Take it online.
Sign in with your Ellaris account for online play. Four teams have three seats each; bots can fill open seats during the alpha. A full set of human opponents is not guaranteed. Join Discord to find players or share feedback.
